Counteract Reminder, a Tech Issue, and a Request
Also, if anyone if familiar with WordPress, Sylvie is having a heck of a time trying to get the comments section there to not require a WordPress account to leave a comment. We’ve both looked over all of the settings and can’t find the option anywhere. If you know where we should be looking, please leave a comment here or email me. There must be a way to unlock comments to anyone. Thanks!
There is also a link there to a new site called Support Jim which was put together by my family (without telling me until days ago). The site is holding an auction in November on my behalf. Apparently, I work for the most generous and supportive clients and know the kindest people in the world. They donated a wide variety of items to help me bear the brunt of missed work days due to hospital stays, doctors appointments and treatments.
Items have already been donated, so I will let you know when you can go shopping. There will be some amazing items there, and quite frankly, likely to be a limited audience, so you might be able to pick up something nice for very little, while at the same time helping out a self employed single dad (yours truly) with no workman’s comp. I am humbled by everyone’s generosity, and I’m blown away by my family rallying together to get the auction set up in no time. Besides the health impact of my diagnosis, the financial impact has been devastating.
I know that a lot of my readers are other single parents, and that this year’s budgets are not what they were last year, so don’t feel compelled to bid if you aren’t able to. I would still be very grateful if you simply passed word on about the auction to other friends and family after the official announcement is made. Thanks.
And, if for no other reason, you might still like to visit the site because you will find some previously unpublished photos of Depot Dad there including one of my finer moments as a Pirate at O’s seventh birthday party where I made a dozen seven year olds walk the plank!......for gifts and prizes.
